2014 ブルーベルという妖精の棲む森

２０１４年４月１３日、ロンドンの南、車で２時間弱走ったところに、
Arlingtonの森にブルーの可愛い、その名もブルーベルという小さく可愛い花が森一面に咲くところがある。英語ですが、詳しくは以下のページで確認ください。

今年は春が早く訪れた関係で４月１０日に開園したそうです。５月１８日まで一般に公開しているので、花の寿命が長いということでしょうね。
春の花で充ちた森の小道の散歩は本当に気持ちがいい。ブルーの可愛い妖精にあえるかも！！

２０１４ WESTONBIRT ARBORETUM

2014年1１月1０日(日曜日)　10月にも行ったのですが、ロンドンの西に行くこと１０３マイルにあるWESTONBIRT ARBORETUMという森に、今日が紅葉の最後の日と思って行ってきました。ここは、日本種類の楓もあるのですが、紅葉だけではなくて、森全体が綺麗で、温度も10度以下になって、寒冷地の晩秋の森を撮ってきました。

November 10, 2014 (Sunday) Although I went there also in October, it is woods called WESTONBIRT ARBORETUM in 103 miles away to west from London since today must be the last day of autumnal leaves.
Here, although there is also a maple of the Japanese race, not only autumnal leaves but the whole woods are beautiful here, and temperature also turned into 10 degrees or less, and I have photographed the woods of the late autumn of a cold district.

２０１４ AUDLEY END HOUSE AND GARDENS

通常、早朝に車で出かけるのですが、早朝は曇天で１３時以降に青空が望めそうだったので、９時半にロンドンを出発、一路北へと進路を取って、AUDLY ENDと言うところに１１時に到着。イギリスは本当にドライブが楽しめる。日本と違って、一般道路でも郊外は５０マイル[毎時８０キロ]まで出せる、追い越しも可能。綺麗に舗装された道を、森を抜け、丘を駆け上がり、今は気温も１８度前後なので、窓を開けていても爽快です。

オードリーエンドはウォールデン修道院が嘗て存在したところ、ヘンリー八世によって1538年に大法官トマスオードリーに与えられたベネディクト会修道院の場所だったところです。可哀想な修道士たちは、命があって立ち退いたらいいのですが、ヘンリー八世はイギリス全土でカトリックの修道僧を３０００人虐殺したといわれています。修道院は彼のために、国教会の住宅に転換し、オードリーインとして知られていた。それは、彼の孫によって破壊された、トーマス•ハワードによって大改築がなされた、主に、ジェームズI.王を楽しませるためだけに。

Usually, I go out in the car early in the morning, but it was a cloudy day in early morning and blue sky was likely to be expected to 13:00 or later on, and so I left London to 9:30, taking a course to the north, arrived at 11:00 in AUDLY END. Where Walden monastery once existed, Audley End is where it was the location of the Benedictine monastery was given to the Lord Chancellor Thomas Audley in 1538 by Henry VIII. It is said that poor monks, do I vacated if there is life, but Henry VIII and massacred 3,000 monks of the Catholic throughout the UK. ２０１４ STOWE HOUSE (NATIONAL TRUST)

ロンドンより７８．２マイル北北西に行くと、バッキンガム県にSTOWEという村に１８世紀に建てられた豪華な宮殿があります。恐らく日本には紹介されていない宮殿の一つだと思われます。フランスのベルサイユ宮殿を模したと思われる広大な敷地に、贅を尽くした宮殿が建てられています。宮殿正面は、ローマのパンテオンに模して、正面入り口はギリシャ神殿であり、入ったロビーはパンテオンの内部に模して、ギリシャ、ローマの彫刻で飾られている。違うのはラファエロや代々の法王の墓がないぐらいかもしれません。
ご多聞にもれず、こういう豪華な建物を公爵家とはいえ、一ファミリーでの維持は難しく、
１９２３年には庭園を、１９８９年には宮殿もナショナルトラストに寄付されました。



If you go to 78.2 miles north-northwest from London, there is a luxurious palace, which was built in the 18th century in the village of STOWE in Buckingham County. It seems to be one of the palace that has not been introduced in Japan probably. The vast site that seems to be modeled after the Palace of Versailles in France, the palace was lavish has been built to imitate the Pantheon of Rome, the main entrance is a Greek temple, to simulate the interior of the Pantheon, palace façade is decorated with Greece, Rome sculptures in lobby after the enter. It's different might be that there is no tomb of pope of generations and Raphael. It’s difficult to maintain such a luxurious buildings by one family even if the family is Duke of England.
Palace has also been donated to the National Trust in 1989, the garden in 1923.
